Change Address on License
The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration is one entity you must notify as soon as possible if you are in the process of completing an address changing. In order to ensure that your drivers license and vehicle records are current and valid, it is important to have your personal information updated at all times.
How to Change Address on Drivers License in Person
Although the Maryland MVA provides many options to change the address on your driving license, in order to have your new residence reflected on this important credential, you must visit a nearby DMV office. A driver will first be asked to complete a Change of Address form that will be provided to you at the branch.
On this form, a motorist must include personal information, such as the following:
- Your old, residential address
- Your new, residential address
- Your drivers license number
- Your date of birth
- Your title number
- Your daytime phone number
- Your tag number
- Your sticker number
- Your Social Security Number
- Your full signature
- Your full name
Make sure to also present proof of identity, such as your Maryland driving license, and proof of new residence. Once your request has been made, you can expect to receive a new driving license with your current address reflected on it.
How to Change Address on Drivers License Online
To make an official address change online, you will have to visit the MD MVA FastTrack System. Once on the proper page, you will have to provide your MD driver's license number, as well as your date of birth. Keep in mind that changing your address online will only update your information on file. In order to get a new driving license, you will need to visit your nearest MVA office.
How to Change Address on Drivers License by Mail
If you decide that you would rather mail your address change request, then you will have to complete a Change of Address form. Make sure to include information such as your full name, your old residential address, your new residential address and your drivers license number in order to identify you and locate you in the DMV records. Once the form is filled out, enclose it in an envelope and have it send to this address:

How to Change Address on Drivers License by Phone
If you would like to speak to a customer service agent over the phone to complete your address changing, simply call the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration Customer Service Center at 410-768-7000. Have your drivers license number on hand, as well as your new residential address, to supply the authorized DMV agent with upon request. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, call 1-800-492-4575 instead.
